Admissions Session

PMC offers an Admissions Session for staff who are involved in advising students about studying in the UK and writing the reference on the UCAS application.

The session includes an introductory presentation, Q&A session and interactive workshop, and is presented from the university perspective.

Presentation

The presentation presents an overview of studying in the UK and details the latest information regarding UCAS application procedures, followed by key information covering:

what universities want to see in the reference
common admissions issues for universities
how universities select students

The second part of the session is an interactive workshop where participants take on the role of a university admissions tutor and, using anonomised real UCAS application forms, select which students they would make offers to, and who they would decline.
